Battery disposal is important for the environment. Each year, almost 180,000 tons of batteries are disposed in the landfill by Americans alone. About 14,000 of those tons are rechargeable batteries; the rest are single-use. Replacing single-use batteries with rechargeable ones, will not only saving money, but will ensure fewer batteries end up in the landfill.
