Barrie, Ontario, December 15, 2011 — E-waste is a growing concern with environmental groups around the world. Unfortunately, less than 20% of all e-waste in North America is recycled as it instead finds its way into our landfills. In an effort to promote the collection and recycling of e-waste, Busch Systems is offering customized e-waste collection containers for recycling programs in North America.
“One of the things keeping e-waste recycling rates down was the lack of true e-waste recycling bins”, states Serena Brooks, Sales Manager for Busch Systems International, a leading manufacturer of recycling, waste and compost bins. “By offering to customize recycling containers into e-waste bins, we are hoping to increase the recycling rates of electronics such as cell phones”.
With people constantly upgrading to the latest and greatest cell phones and hand-held devices on the market, there are growing amounts of discarded cell phones ending up in landfills. By providing customized recycle bins as an easy solution for this type of collection, Busch Systems aims to increase overall recycling rates.
Busch Systems has previously customized secure document collection consoles into cell phone ‘drop boxes’. These modifications were made for universities and colleges who seem to be leading the way in regard to cell phone collection and recycling. In addition, Busch Systems also customizes lockable desk side containers into cell phone recycling bins as an alternative option.
“We are willing to work with any customers in an effort to customize recycling bins into viable e-waste collection options”, states Brooks. “The more e-waste that we recycle, means less e-waste ends up in our landfills. It’s just the right thing to do”.
