Fundraising… who knew that this could easily tie into recycling? I had received a call from a high school that was launching a school-wide campaign to compost for their garden project this fall. They were interested in fundraising by using our “KC kitchen Composter”. Their hope is to have staff purchase these compost collection bins to use in their offices, homes to collect organic waste for their outdoor composter. The students also hoped that by selling these compost bins to their parents, they would be helping to encourage gardening and composting in their homes. I thought this to be a wonderful idea. By fall of 2012 they are hoping to have as many as 200 “KC Kitchen Composters” in use helping them to achieve their goal of greening the school with a beautiful garden.
